Mykonos Airport Shuttles and Buses
Passengers looking for a budget-friendly way to travel from Mykonos International Airport (JMK) have only one public transportation option: the local KTEL buses. JMK Airport is directly connected to the Southern Bus Station of Mykonos Town (Chora), located near Fabrika Square. From there, travelers can continue their journey to other areas of the island using onward KTEL connections.
Mykonos Airport Public KTEL Buses
KTEL buses are the only public transport service operating from Mykonos Airport. They provide relatively quick, safe, and comfortable transfers and include designated luggage storage in the undercarriage. However, the only direct routes from the airport lead either to Mykonos Town (Fabrika Station) or to the New Port. Even during the peak summer season, buses are often delayed, and waiting times at the airport can be longer than expected.
When boarding a bus at JMK Airport, you’ll need to choose between routes heading to Fabrika Station or to the New Port, depending on your final destination.
You should take a Fabrika-bound bus if your accommodation is located in:
- Central or southern areas of Mykonos Town (Chora)
- Platis Gialos
- Psarrou
- Ornos
- Agios Ioannis
- Paradise Beach
- Paraga
From Fabrika Bus Station, you can find onward KTEL routes connecting you to the above destinations.
On the other hand, New Port-bound buses are ideal for travelers staying near the port area or those continuing their journey by ferry to other Greek islands or the mainland.
Our Tip 1: Mykonos has two ports. The Old Port serves excursion boats and trips to Delos, while the New Port handles ferries to other islands, the mainland, and cruise ships.
Our Tip 2: The KTEL bus company also offers private shuttle transfer services upon request.

Does Mykonos Airport Have a Bus Stop?
Yes. The bus stop at Mykonos Airport is located just outside the terminal building, directly opposite the airport taxi rank. After collecting your luggage, simply exit the Arrivals hall and you’ll see the bus stop immediately.
Our Tip: Mykonos Town has two main bus terminals. Fabrika Station is on the south side of Chora, while the North Bus Terminal is near the Old Port and serves routes to Kalafati, Ano Mera, and Elia. The two terminals are not connected by bus but are within a 15-minute walking distance of each other.
Bus Tickets from Mykonos Airport
A one-way bus ticket from Mykonos Airport costs 3€ / 3$. Tickets are purchased directly from the driver when boarding the bus. Payment is accepted only in cash, and it’s strongly recommended to carry small bills, as drivers may not have sufficient change.
Our Tip 1: KTEL buses in Mykonos can become very crowded, especially during high season. Tickets do not guarantee a seat, so standing during the journey is possible.
Our Tip 2: If your final destination is outside Mykonos Town, you’ll need to purchase an additional ticket (approx. 2€ / 2$) for your onward bus transfer from Chora.
