Mykonos Airport is a small airfield, despite being among the top 10 busiest airports in Greece. Until recently, JMK Airport offered not only basic but often insufficient amenities. However, in late 2015, Fraport Greece took over the airport (along with 13 other regional airports), triggering significant upgrades in both operations and passenger services. Today, Mykonos Airport remains a single-terminal facility with limited size and infrastructure, yet it is fully refurbished, modernized, and capable of handling the intense seasonal passenger traffic of the summer months.

JMK Airport’s Architectural Design

While Mykonos Airport may not provide extensive facilities, it certainly stands out for its architectural identity. The large-scale renovation completed in 2021 resulted in a distinctive design inspired by traditional local architecture, enhanced with contemporary decorative elements. The terminal’s concept is based on the iconic Mykonian pigeon houses, clearly reflecting Aegean tradition and conveying the Cycladic atmosphere to passengers from the very moment they arrive on the island.

Facilities & Services at Mykonos Airport Terminal

At Mykonos Airport, passengers will find only the essential services and amenities. Nevertheless, the quality of these services is notably high, ensuring a smooth and pleasant travel experience. The terminal features a 24/7 currency exchange office, an information desk, and ATM machines. Free Wi-Fi is available by connecting to the “Fraport-Free” network, while complimentary charging points are also provided.

Shopping options at JMK Airport are limited but well-curated. They include a compact duty-free store, a jewelry boutique, a telecommunications shop, an eyewear store, and a fashion and accessories outlet. Additionally, the “Reserve & Collect” service is available for duty-free purchases, allowing passengers to pre-order products online and collect them upon arrival at the airport.

Regarding lounges, Mykonos Airport offers an airside lounge operated by Goldair Handling, featuring a Myconian-style setting with food and beverage options. There is also the Delos Lounge, a premium private aviation lounge providing VIP services, including fully private boarding procedures.

Finally, Mykonos Airport is fully accessible, offering ramps, adapted restrooms for passengers with reduced mobility, and special assistance services for travelers who require additional support.
